HI, IF ANYONE COULD HELP ON THESE QUESTIONS OR POINT ME IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION AS IM STRUGGLING, I WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL, MANY THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Q1: HOW DO YOU PROVIDE ACTIVE SUPPORT AND PLACE THE PREFERENCES AND BEST INTEREST OF INDIVIDUALS AT THE CENTRE OF EVERYTHING YOU DO WHEN THEY HAVE BEEN IN DANGER OF BEING HARMED OR ABUSED ???

Q2: HOW DOES DANGER, HARM AND ABUSE AFFECT THE WELL BEING OF AN INDIVIDUAL IN THE SHORT TERM, MEDIUM TERM AND LONG TERM ???

Q3: HOW DO YOU SUPPORT THE INDIVIDUALS AND ALSO OTHER COLLEAGUES TO SUPPORT INDIVIDUALS WHO ARE DISTRESSED, FEARFUL AND UNCERTAIN ABOUT WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO THEM ???

Hi PigginPerfect,

1 By carrying out your duties such as reporting your concerns and ensuring that they are now safe, listening to them and acknowledging them etc.

2 Examples

Short term - Shock, emotional responses (crying etc), fear.

Medium term - Flash backs, anger, loss of confidence.

Long term - Depression, distrust, chronic illness.

3 By talking, reassuring, answering questions, providing information etc.

Hope that helps

Hi ShenShen,

Your Health, Your Care, Your Say highlighted the need for more integration between services.

"They experience a lack of integration between services (e.g. they do not consistently
get joint health and social care assessments); they feel they have to join services up
themselves which can be time consuming and frustrating

They feel there is a lack of continuity and co-ordination both within and between
services (e.g. having to repeat the same information every time they meet a new
professional)

They think this can compromise the quality of care they receive and can mean that
care is not as safe or effective as it might be"

See here (Page 21): http://www.dh.gov.uk/en/Publicationsandstatistics/Publications/PublicationsPolicyAndG uidance/DH_4127357

Hope that helps
