Refer to their Support/Care Plan for clarification/to support you with informing the individual why it wasn't possible, seek assistance from a colleague (senior?) Refer to your employers' Policies & Procedures, Guidelines, Risk Assessments. Advise the individual that you would try to find out who could help them: work in partnership with others within your team or other professionals, such as community nurse, benefits advisor, physiotherapist, & keep the individual informed.
