suzannegreaves.

legal and organisational requirements on equality, diversity, discrimination and rights when communicating with and completing records about individuals are, The Data Protection Act 1998 ,Care Standards Act 2000,
(if you are in Domicilliary Care...The Domicilliary Care Regulations & Standards 2004) Policies held by the company according to the Goverment Guidelines (Confidentiality of Personal Information Act 1988)
You are responsible for maintaining confidentiality and ensuring whatever you report or record is factual.

Hope that helps ...Janice

think of the types of materials that would be in your place of work..

i.e. bleach, cleaning products, aerosols.....these would be itemised in the COSHH file...with an explanation of usage, type of risk involved.
Kept in a Locked Cupboard.

another item could be soiled pads....you would put in the appropriate bag, then into the lidded receptacle supplied ready for disposal by the refuse.

another item could be needles (i.e. diabetic syringes)....disposed of in sharps boxes then collected by or returned to ..... whatever your company does.

To prevent cross infection/contamination you would use any gloves, aprons supplied by the company, wash hands after touching/using equipment.

Hope that gives you some idea.

Just wanted to say 'Hello'

Brilliant site.

I have just started my NVQ2 and have completed two modules , all with the help of the posters on here. ( I have been lurking )

The advice and encouragement is second to none , and I thank all

I am just about to start HSC 218 , and I'll be fine once I figure out what the questions are in English ;) they could be in double-dutch when I first start reading them
But , I'll get there , and seeing as I retire in just over two years with what will be 29 years under my belt I'll finally get a 'Blue Peter' badge aka NVQ
