Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010
This Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2010 came into force on April 1st 2010 for all NHS providers and for Adult Social Care providers came into force on the 1st October 2010. This means that across all 28 regulated activities which are defined by this new Act, there will be a common legislative framework for Health and Social Care. It introduces Outcomes and Regulations which have to be evidenced and also introduced a framework of compliance. This compliance framework is set out for all services in the Care Quality Commission document, Essential standards of Quality and Safety.
There is, in addition, a Code of Practice which is relevant to Outcome 8, Regulation 12 which forms part of the legislative framework.
