


19/12/05 - How CSCI share information about service providers
Read the guidance they give staff on how to share information
about service providers with commissioners of care, like councils and
primary care trusts, and other organisations.
CSCI has issued new guidance on how our staff can take a proactive approach
to sharing information about service providers.
CSCI state that It's important to share information so that they can:
promote improvements in social care
Work in partnership with other regulators
play our role in the systems that aim to protect people who are at risk.
The guidance details the steps that staff can take to reach sound, lawful
information-sharing decisions in an open and accountable way.
It includes some examples of common information-sharing dilemmas that
our staff face, along with suggestions on how they might be considered
and resolved.

Guidance logs
Guidance logs (formerly known as precedent logs) are used by inspectors to apply the National Minimum Standards.
Inspectors use the logs when queries arise about the interpretation of a particular standard, or where clarification is needed on how a particular aspect of a service should be inspected against the standards.
