Registered Managers Award Summary
The Registered Managers award links into existing
National Occupational Standards as much as possible along with 3 new
units. It provides the manager with an award that states their competencies
in a wide range of areas.
The award is aimed at the person who is managing care services to
some of the most vulnerable members of our society including older
people and those with physical or learning difficulties.
Delivery Method
To achieve the Registered Managers award you must
complete 10 units, 4 mandatory plus 6 optional. The Assessor (A1)
or Verifier (V1) units can be included in unit choice.
You will be allocated a workplace assessor who will guide you through
the necessary evidence building in your workplace for the completion
of the Registered managers award. Routes for Assessment will be individually
discussed with the candidate. Looking at the role of Advisors, workshops
and independent assessment.

1. To consolidate your knowledge awareness
in a senior management role.
2. Heighten your awareness of what is required by
the standards and consolidate your knowledge.
3. To enhance your professional development in HSC
to meet the care standards.
4. To enable you to progress forward to become a
registered manager.
