Hi I am new to the forum and I doing my NVQ 3 in Social Care & Health and I need your help as I am having a memory block.

My question is :- In response to an individuals reaction, describe two different ways you can use to check that your client has understood you.

Thanks in advance

This was the answer I gave - and I passed....

You'll need to think of something around this, or re-word.

"Although it is not acceptable table to talk down to an individual, there is no point trying to communicate with them by using lots of jargon and medical terminology that they will not understand.

You need to be sure that the information you are giving is being understood. The easiest way to check that the individual has understood what you have said is to ask them to repeat what you have discussed or agreed."

To check that somebody understands you, you could ask them to repeat back to you what you have said in their own words. Another option would be to document the outcomes of the conversation and ask them to read it back to make sure that there are no misunderstandings.

Hope this helps.

Hi Asongwe chofor

Personal Protective Equipment for Infection Control. Personal protective equipment (PPE) refers to protective clothing, helmets, gloves, face shields, goggles, facemasks and/or respirators or other equipment designed to protect the wearer from injury or the spread of infection or illness.

For communicable disease exposure, PPE is specialised clothing or equipment used to prevent contact with hazardous substances. ... PPE such as gowns, gloves, masks, and goggles provide physical barriers that prevent the hands, skin, clothing, eyes, nose, and mouth from coming in contact with infectious agents.
