Remember you know your role and you know your service users.  Be confident, relax and where possible,  give real examples to demonstrate your understanding.

SAFE
“By safe, we mean people are protected from abuse and avoidable harm”.

What do you understand about safeguarding?  What would you do if you were concerned?
How do you prevent infection and cross contamination?
How do you support service users with taking medicine?

*You may be asked about a particular service user and how you support them e.g with drinking, eating or if they have distressed needs.  Be prepared to talk through this and ensure that care plans, associated documents (e.g. food charts) and what is observed align.

EFFECTIVE
By effective, we mean that people’s care, treatment and support achieves good outcomes, promotes a good quality of life and is based on the best available evidence”.

How do you provide person centred care?

CARING

How do you deliver dignified care?

How do you promote service users’ rights?
How do you gain consent?  What about for people who cannot consent?
How do you ensure people access services?

WELL LED
”By well-led, we mean that the leadership, management and governance assures the delivery of high-quality and person-centred care, supports learning and innovation, and promotes an open and fair culture”.
