Policies and Procedures to assist you with Care Inspectorate regulations and standards
Drafted in partnership with Scottish care providers, our Care at Home Policies are fully compliant with the Care Inspectorate Standards.
W&P’s Scottish Policies and procedures have been written in accordance with the Health and Social Care Standards. These standards set out what to expect when people use health, social care, or social work services in Scotland. They seek to provide better outcomes for everyone; to ensure that individuals are treated with respect and dignity, and that the basic human rights are upheld.
The Standards are based on five headline outcomes:
• I experience high quality care and support that is right for me.
• I am fully involved in all decisions about my care and support.
• I have confidence in the people who support and care for me.
• I have confidence in the organisation providing my care and support.
• I experience a high-quality environment if the organisation provides the premises.
The Standards are underpinned by five principles: dignity and respect, compassion, be included, responsive care, and support and wellbeing.
The principles themselves are not standards or outcomes but rather reflect the way that everyone should expect to be treated.
The Standards are for everyone. Irrespective of age or ability, we are all entitled to the same high quality care and support.
The Care Inspectorate and Healthcare Improvement Scotland take into account these Standards when carrying out their inspections and quality assurance functions, and when making decisions about care and health services which are, or are applying to be, registered.

Ensure your policies are CI compliant with W&P’s Policy and Procedure Update Service. W&P’s policy and compliance team constantly scan and review all the statutory websites and regulatory publications to track the very latest developments in the Health & Social Care Sector. We then assimilate all the data collected and update the procedures every 4 months or immediately if there is a critical change to regulation, good practice guidance, case law outcomes etc. The update service is free for your first year. For convenience, we ask you to sign up to pay your annual subscription by direct debit when purchasing a full set. After the first year of free updates, unless you choose to cancel, your direct debit will start and the update service continues – we will send you a reminder that the subscription is due but if you decide to cancel before then, you can, you will not be charged a penny. The update service is just £225 (exc vat) per year after the first free year of updates.
Unlike some Policy and Procedure providers, there are no license agreements, restrictive clauses or long-term commitments, when you buy from W&P, it’s a one-off cost of £995.00 plus vat and they are yours to keep. The only ongoing cost is the Update Service which is FREE in the first year but completely optional thereafter.
You also receive any NEW Policies and Procedures that we release to meet changes in legislation FREE of charge.
